The Night Bazzar area is Chiang Mai's main tourist location with most of the venues here aiming primarily at the tourist market.
Thapae soi 1: around the now defunct Peak Climbing wall (destroyed by a fire on 1 Jan 2008) is a group of small open air beer bars, The Peak is due to be re-developed and many of the bars have closed down, the whole site is in terminal decline and expected to shut in the next few months. Bars currently still open:
- MTVee Bar (web site)
- Paradise Bar
- Friendship Bar
Thapae soi 1: Opposite entrance to D2 Hotel, a row of small beer bars adjacent to the "Foxy lady" bar. Chiang Mai's popular sleaze alley; more commercial than the Peak Bars with many freelancers (Mainly straight).
