Night Bazzar Area : Click for Map

The Night Bazzar area is Chiang Mai's main tourist location with most of the venues here aiming primarily at the tourist market.

Thapae soi 1: around the now defunct Peak Climbing wall (destroyed by a fire on 1 Jan 2008) is a group of small open air beer bars, popular with gay Thai customers and foreigners alike.  Good venues to meet people in relaxed surroundings and easy to bar hop. The Peak is due to be re-developed and some of the bars have closed down, the whole site is expected to shut in the next few months

  • Friendship Bar (probably the most popular with Thai gays)
  • Paradise Bar
  • MTVee Bar (web site)

Thapae soi 1: Opposite entrance to D2 Hotel, a row of small beer bars adjacent to the "Foxy lady" bar. Chiang Mai's popular sleaze alley; more commercial than the Peak Bars with many freelancers (Mainly straight).

  • Cruise Bar
  • Cream Bar
  • Dragon King
  • See You Bar (where Jackpot was)
  • Secrets
